Commercial Flat Roof Replacement
Type of project: Commercial Flat Roof Replacement
A business owner who considered multiple roof-repair quotes and sales pitches from Edmonton roofers said the most honest and most helpful presentation was from Peter Coscolin, of Jayson Global Roofing.
The building owner, George B., needed a new roof on his commercial property. He had used the same flat roofing contractor for years, but the contractor’s recent quote for the 23,000 square foot project seemed excessively high.
George B. had concerns about some of the project details. The vents on the curbs had moved and were not insulated. The drain areas were too high as they had been repaired a number of times over the past few years by other roofing companies.
As well, the roofing scope of work was for the removal of the existing tar and gravel roofing system, also known as BUR, as well as the supply and install of a two-ply mopped application with a product called Soprema. Peter gave George B. assurances that these issues would be taken care of.
George B. had only praise for Peter and the rest of Jayson Global’s staff. “His crew was very clean and worked with our tenant, taking into account not to interfere with his business,” he said. “The company also had a safety inspector. I spoke with her and I was very satisfied that all safety regulations were followed. Jayson Global always made sure the roof was always covered in case of rain and that the job was completed in a timely manner, even though the repair was quite large.
“At the end Peter and I inspected the new roof and I came away very satisfied. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter to anybody interested in a professional job.”
This is a real, live testimonial provided at our request by real people who were very happy with our work!
Location: Edmonton, AB
Approximate area of roof: 23,000 Sq Ft
Jayson Global was hired to remove the BUR, Built Up Roofing system – also known as tar and gravel roofing system, and install the new SBS, Styrene Butadiene Styrene, flat roof system.
The company installed a new layer of fibreboard, fully adhered with hot asphalt, on all roof areas. They set in place a new two-ply modified bitumen roof membrane, which consists of one layer of base sheet and one layer of Cap sheet. The membrane is fully adhered in hot asphalt.
This was followed by the installation of the all new metal flashings and new plumbing vents. Jayson Global supplied and installed a layer of mineral cap sheet, torch applied, and include all of the up-stand details, along with new pre-painted metal flashings at all perimeters.
All work has complied with the strict manufacturer’s recommendations on material installations to ensure that it complies with the manufacturer’s warranty program.
The project was accomplished in a number of weeks with all of the issues completed to George’s satisfaction.
